The out-of-control thugs attacked a bus owned by Channels Television that was carrying roughly eleven journalists from various print and broadcast media outlets covering the hardship protest.<\/p>\n

According to reports, the assailants, who were walking along Sokoto Road brandishing sticks and machetes, broke the car’s windows, showering everyone inside with shards of glass. One TVC correspondent was slightly hurt.<\/p>\n

While covering the protest earlier in the morning, some thugs reportedly broke the rear glass of the official WAZOBIA FM radio vehicle.<\/p>\n

Some young people were reported to have looted the Nigerian Communications Commission office on State Road and set it on fire as the protest went on.<\/p>\n

Likewise, the demonstrators have persisted in wreaking havoc in the historic city by setting upon stores and other commercial establishments and plundering them.<\/p>\n

In the meantime, hundreds of demonstrators allegedly stormed the streets, chasing away protesters who were looting stores and other commercial buildings. The demonstrators were reportedly wearing face caps with the word “Peace” on them.<\/p>\n

“Mu yanci mukeso ba ruwan mu da kayan kowa,” or “We need freedom from the government, we don’t want anybody’s property,” was chanted by the “Peace” protesters donning green face caps.<\/p>\n
