The Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) has clarified that it has not approved any tariff increases for data and voice services for network operators like MTN and Globacom.<\/strong><\/p>\n

This announcement was made on Saturday through the NCC’s X handle, countering recent reports that claimed the regulator had sanctioned a hike in tariffs across the telecom industry.<\/p>\n

The false reports suggested that the NCC had authorized higher charges for voice calls, SMS, data, and other services, leading to increased costs for consumers.<\/p>\n

However, the NCC firmly denied these claims, stating that no new tariff plans or hikes had been approved and advising the public to disregard such misinformation.<\/p>\n

The commission also emphasized its directive for telecom operators to maintain transparent and fair tariff plans.<\/p>\n
