{"id":141909,"date":"2024-08-04T21:12:30","date_gmt":"2024-08-04T20:12:30","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/newsdigest.ng\/?p=141909"},"modified":"2024-08-04T21:12:30","modified_gmt":"2024-08-04T20:12:30","slug":"fg-clears-air-on-distribution-of-%e2%82%a6573-billion-to-state-governors","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/thepublicpulse.ng\/?p=141909","title":{"rendered":"FG Clears Air On Distribution of \u20a6573 Billion to State Governors"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>The Federal Government has addressed some claims regarding the distribution of funds to state governments.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Contrary to reports saying that \u20a6570 billion was allocated to each state under the World Bank-supported NG-Cares program, the Minister of Information and National Orientation, Mohammed Idris, clarified that the total amount distributed was \u20a6573 billion.<\/p>\n<p>Idris explained that this sum was shared among the 36 state governors and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Ministry between the end of 2023 and July 2024.<\/p>\n<p>He said that the amount was not allocated per state but was distributed collectively as reimbursements under the NG-Cares program.<\/p>\n<p>The Minister&#8217;s statement follows misleading reports from some media outlets claiming that each state received \u20a6570 billion individually.<\/p>\n<p>Idris clarified that the total distribution included \u20a6135.4 billion in late 2023 and \u20a6438.36 billion in the previous month.<\/p>\n<p>He urged media organizations to report these figures accurately and avoid being sensational.<\/p>\n<p>Idris said:<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;At no time did I say that State Governors received \u20a6570 Billion each from the Federal Government.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWhat the States and the FCT collectively received in reimbursements between the end of 2023 and July 2024, under the World Bank-supported NG-CARES program, is a total of \u20a6573 Billion Naira, as follows.<\/p>\n<p>\u201c\u20a6135.4B in late 2023, and \u20a6438.36B last month.
