He stated that the 2024 national budget does not include any allocation for fuel subsidies.<\/p>\n<p>Edun emphasized that economic indicators suggest the country is moving in the right direction and stressed the importance of maintaining these positive trends.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThere is no fuel subsidy in the budget. That is the factual position. We are seeing signs that our economic direction is correct, and we must continue on this path,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>This stance follows President Bola Ahmed Tinubu\u2019s recent address in which he acknowledged the difficult decision to remove the fuel subsidy but defended it as necessary.<\/p>\n<p>Former President Olusegun Obasanjo, however, claimed in an interview with the Financial Times that inflation had effectively led to the return of the subsidy.
