In a tragic incident in Taura Local Government Area of Jigawa State, a canoe carrying passengers across the Gamoda River at Nahuce village capsized on August 8, 2024.\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n

The mishap resulted in the death of five individuals, while fifteen others remain unaccounted for.<\/p>\n

The incident occurred when a canoe, transporting 20 passengers, overturned in the river.<\/p>\n

Local authorities, including the police and volunteer divers, promptly responded to the emergency, managing to rescue five people from the waters.<\/p>\n

Sadly, five others were confirmed dead, including individuals aged between 15 and 75 years.<\/p>\n

Rescue efforts are ongoing as authorities are striving to locate the remaining missing passengers.<\/p>\n
