The Osun State Government has issued a stern warning to business operators within the state, emphasizing the need to comply with their tax obligations or face closure.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The Osun Internal Revenue Service (OIRS), under the leadership of Adesola Adewumi, expressed frustration over the continued non-compliance by some businesses, despite receiving ample time to fulfill their tax responsibilities.<\/p>\n

During a recent awareness campaign in Osogbo, the state capital, Adewumi, represented by the Agency’s Director of Legal and Enforcement, Mr. Deji Atoyebi, announced that businesses still failing to meet their tax duties have until Monday, August 12, to settle their dues.<\/p>\n

Failure to comply will result in the immediate sealing of their premises.<\/p>\n

The OIRS has reiterated that the deadline for tax enforcement was initially set for May this year, but leniency was extended to allow businesses more time.<\/p>\n

However, the Agency has now concluded plans to begin strict enforcement against defaulters.<\/p>\n

Businesses that have already been served with harmonized demand notices are urged to take immediate action to avoid the impending consequences.<\/p>\n

For those who have yet to receive such notices, the OIRS has advised them to visit the nearest tax office or access the agency’s online platform to request their notice.<\/p>\n
