The Federal Government has officially received 70 hybrid Jet Mover buses from Jet Motor Company, marking a significant step in enhancing the country\u2019s transportation sector.<\/p>\n
In a statement to The PUNCH on Monday, Jet Motor Company revealed the successful delivery of these buses, which operate on both compressed natural gas (CNG) and premium motor spirit (PMS).<\/p>\n
The hybrid buses are anticipated to offer affordable and comfortable transportation options for Nigerians.<\/p>\n
The handover ceremony took place at Jet Motor Company\u2019s plant in Ajah, Lagos State, and was attended by officials from the Ministry of Finance and representatives from the Presidential Initiative for Compressed Natural Gas.<\/p>\n
Dimas Hamidu, Technical Assistant to the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Finance, praised the quality of the vehicles and commended the company\u2019s efforts.<\/p>\n
He noted that the hybrid buses exemplify President Bola Tinubu\u2019s administration’s commitment to mitigating the impact of fuel subsidy removal on citizens.<\/p>\n
\u201cThis development will significantly address transportation needs and help ease the economic burden on the populace,\u201d Hamidu stated. <\/p>\n
He added that the Finance Minister\u2019s recent visit to the plant and test drive of the vehicles had left a positive impression.<\/p>\n
Hamidu also highlighted that the Federal Government has contracted multiple companies for the supply of CNG vehicles. <\/p>\n
He expressed satisfaction with Jet Motor Company\u2019s adherence to contract terms and specifications.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe are hopeful that we will be invited again soon to take delivery of more vehicles, further aiding in resolving the nation\u2019s transportation challenges,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
Derek Ewelukwa, Managing Director of Jet Motor Company, expressed gratitude for the opportunity to contribute to the country\u2019s transportation infrastructure.<\/p>\n
He detailed that each bus is equipped with two CNG tanks, totaling 220 litres of gas capacity, and an 80-litre petrol tank. <\/p>\n
