The Nigerian Meteorological Agency (NiMet) has issued a forecast for thundery and rainy weather conditions across various regions of the country from Thursday through Saturday.<\/p>\n
According to the weather outlook released on Wednesday in Abuja, isolated thunderstorms are expected on Thursday morning in parts of Kebbi, Sokoto, Taraba, Gombe, Borno, Yobe, Kaduna, and Adamawa states.<\/p>\n
Later in the day, these storms are likely to affect Borno, Jigawa, Katsina, Kano, Kaduna, Yobe, Zamfara, Bauchi, Gombe, and Adamawa states.<\/p>\n
In the North Central region, moderate rainfall is anticipated over Niger State in the morning, with further rainfall expected in the Federal Capital Territory, Plateau, Nasarawa, and Benue States by the afternoon.<\/p>\n
For the southern region, NiMet predicts intermittent rains over areas such as Imo, Abia, Ebonyi, Enugu, Rivers, Bayelsa, Akwa Ibom, and Cross River states in the afternoon and evening.<\/p>\n
On Friday, thunderstorms are forecasted for Yobe, Jigawa, Katsina, and Kano states during the morning, with scattered thunderstorms anticipated across the northern region later in the day.<\/p>\n
The North Central region may experience isolated rains in the morning over parts of Niger, Nasarawa, the Federal Capital Territory, and Plateau States, followed by moderate rains in the afternoon.<\/p>\n
For Saturday, isolated thunderstorms are expected in the morning over Sokoto, Kaduna, Bauchi, Zamfara, Adamawa, Taraba, and Kebbi States. Widespread thunderstorms are likely to develop across the northern region later in the day.<\/p>\n
The North Central region is forecasted to see moderate rains in the morning, particularly in the Federal Capital Territory, Nasarawa, and Benue states, with thunderstorms and moderate rains expected during the afternoon and evening.<\/p>\n
Intermittent rains are anticipated in the southern region from afternoon to evening.<\/p>\n
NiMet has advised residents, particularly in major cities, to steer clear of flood-prone areas due to the high likelihood of urban flooding resulting from heavy downpours.
