Nigerian Army troops have successfully thwarted a terrorist attack on the Saulawa community in Birnin Gwari Local Government Area, Kaduna State.<\/p>\n

The soldiers had cleared the villages of Maidaro and Ngade Alha while on patrol on Friday before they came into contact with the terrorists.<\/p>\n

The Nigerian Army said in a statement on X that there was a gunfight between the terrorists and the troops.<\/p>\n

The Army also reported that after the operation, 11 motorcycles and weapons had been found, along with the deaths of two terrorists.<\/p>\n

The post read, \u201cTroops of the Nigerian Army on Operation Forest Sanity have dealt a significant blow to terrorists operating within the Saulawa general area of Birnin Gwari Local Government Area of Kaduna State on Friday, August 16, 2024.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe troops, while conducting a fighting patrol to Saulawa, cleared Maidaro and Ngade Alha villages before making contact with the rampaging terrorists. The ensuing firefight resulted in the elimination of two terrorists and the recovery of one AK-47 rifle, one AK-47 rifle magazine loaded with 23 rounds of 7.62mm special ammunition, and 11 motorcycles, one of which was burned in situ due to damage sustained during the operation.\u201d<\/p>\n

The agency stated that troops are still dedicated to stopping terrorist activity within the nation.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe troops, in their untiring commitment, have continued to deny the terrorists freedom of action and have significantly undermined their capabilities.<\/p>\n
