Justice Emmanuel Olayinka Ayoola, a former chairman of the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC), has passed away at the age of 90.\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n

The news of his death was confirmed by his family on Wednesday, noting that he died on Tuesday.<\/p>\n

Justice Ayoola had a long and illustrious career in the judiciary, serving in various capacities throughout his life.<\/p>\n

Born in Ilesa, Osun State, he pursued his legal education at the University of London, where he earned his law degree.<\/p>\n

He was called to the bar in 1957 and began his legal career in Nigeria shortly thereafter.<\/p>\n

Justice Ayoola’s career was marked by numerous achievements, including his appointment as a Judge of the High Court of Western Nigeria in 1976.<\/p>\n

He later served as a Justice of the Supreme Court of Nigeria and was also appointed as the Chief Justice of The Gambia.<\/p>\n

His expertise and commitment to justice led to his appointment as the chairman of the ICPC in 2005, where he played a pivotal role in combating corruption in Nigeria.<\/p>\n

Throughout his life, Justice Ayoola was known for his integrity, dedication to the rule of law, and his contributions to the legal profession in Nigeria and beyond.<\/p>\n
