The 2025 budget for State House agencies will be determined based on a thorough needs assessment, according to the Chief of Staff to the President, Femi Gbajabiamila.<\/p>\n

Speaking to journalists in Abuja on Wednesday after a fact-finding tour of several government agencies under the State House\u2019s supervision, Gbajabiamila emphasized the importance of aligning budget allocations with actual requirements.<\/p>\n

“In any country, resources are finite. We need to prioritize effectively. Our focus is on assessing the progress of these agencies, evaluating how well they have met their mandates, and determining the relevance of these mandates in relation to the administration\u2019s vision and the Renewed Hope Agenda,” he said.<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
He further mentioned that many agencies suffer from inadequate funding, raising questions about whether some should be merged or even dissolved, though he clarified that this does not apply to State House agencies.<\/p>\n

The 2025 budget, he noted, will not be made in a vacuum but will be grounded in a comprehensive needs assessment.<\/p>\n

During his interactions with agency heads and staff, Gbajabiamila committed to improving the welfare and working conditions of employees in agencies overseen by the State House.<\/p>\n

He encouraged staff to embrace innovation, professionalism, and excellence in their roles, while also supporting their leaders to achieve success.<\/p>\n

Gbajabiamila underscored the importance of transparency in procurement processes, which he described as crucial for maintaining the administration\u2019s dedication to good governance and accountability.<\/p>\n

The agencies visited during the tour included the Nigeria Agriculture and Land Development Agency (NALDA), Bureau of Public Procurement (BPP), Bureau of Public Enterprises (BPE), Nigeria Atomic Energy Commission (NAEC), and the National Agency for Science and Engineering Infrastructure (NASENI).<\/p>\n
