Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke has announced new measures aimed at addressing the economic difficulties affecting residents.<\/strong><\/p>\n

In an announcement on Thursday, Adeleke said that these measures are designed to tackle issues related to food inflation, fuel prices, and general welfare, reflecting his commitment made during the EndBadGovernance protests.<\/p>\n

Following the nationwide demonstrations from August 1 to August 10, 2024, where citizens voiced concerns over hunger and economic hardship, Adeleke pledged to take concrete actions.<\/p>\n

He directed state agencies to accelerate the implementation of policies focused on food security, internal security, minimum wage, and fuel affordability.<\/p>\n

The Governor\u2019s office detailed that the Ministry of Agriculture and the Food Security Action Committee are to start executing plans immediately.<\/p>\n

This includes the distribution of essential farm equipment, seeds, and fertilizers.<\/p>\n

Additionally, plans are underway for cultivating large areas of land under the Young Agropreneurs Incubation Program, part of a broader \u2018Back to Farm\u2019 initiative to support agriculture.<\/p>\n

Adeleke also announced plans to enhance youth engagement through the Ministry of Science and Innovation by advancing the State ICT Policy and State Innovation Policy.<\/p>\n

He expressed hope that these steps will mitigate the impact of food inflation and improve overall welfare.<\/p>\n

Furthermore, Adeleke instructed the State Task Force on Petrol Monitoring to address fuel distribution issues and prevent hoarding.<\/p>\n

He called on petrol marketers to refrain from exploiting the situation, stressing the need for their cooperation to alleviate public suffering.<\/p>\n
