President Bola Tinubu has authorized the sum of N10 billion to expedite Nigeria’s transition to digital broadcasting.<\/strong><\/p>\n

This financial commitment, drawn from spectrum sales, aims to accelerate the Digital Switch-Over (DSO) initiative.<\/p>\n

Charles Ebuebu, Director General of the National Broadcasting Commission (NBC), along with Dr. Aminu Maida, the Executive Vice Chairman of the Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC), announced the approval during a joint press briefing.<\/p>\n

They emphasized that this allocation highlights President Tinubu\u2019s dedication to fostering technological progress, economic development, and cultural growth through the DSO project.<\/p>\n

The funding will be directed towards several key areas, including the creation of diverse content channels, establishment of a comprehensive satellite network, and implementation of sophisticated audience measurement tools.<\/p>\n

Additionally, efforts will focus on public education about the benefits of digital broadcasting, setting up state-of-the-art studios, and distributing advanced set-top boxes.<\/p>\n

Ebuebu also noted the project\u2019s role in aligning Nigeria with international broadcasting standards, which will boost the country\u2019s competitive edge and attract foreign investment.<\/p>\n
