The twenty medical students who were rescued after being kidnapped last week have been transported to Abuja, the Federal Capital Territory, for further medical evaluation.<\/p>\n

One kidnapper was shot and killed, while two were apprehended, according to information that the nation only learned from one of the security officers participating in the search and rescue operation.<\/p>\n

On Friday night, the Benue Police Command verified the 20 medical students’ rescue.<\/p>\n

The medical students were saved in the Ado Local Government Area of Benue State at the Ajide Forest in the Ukwonyo Council Ward.<\/p>\n

Ajide forest is sandwiched between Ado and\u00a0 Okpokwu Local Government Areas in Benue South senatorial district.<\/p>\n

The source said: \u201cThe security team and surveillance helicopters\u00a0 were\u00a0 stationed in\u00a0 Utonkon, Ado Local Government Area before security personnel\u00a0 stormed\u00a0 the kidnappers den.<\/p>\n

\u201d We killed one and captured two and all the 20 rescued medical students have been moved\u00a0 to Abuja for proper medical examination.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
