The Osun State government has clarified its non-involvement in a \u20a61 billion donation made to the Cherubim and Seraphim Church, emphasizing that the contribution was a personal act of philanthropy by Dr. Deji Adeleke, a renowned businessman.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The government, through the spokesperson to the Governor, Mallam Olawale Rasheed, stressed that neither Governor Ademola Adeleke nor the state treasury was involved in the donation.<\/p>\n

This clarification was issued following accusations from the All Progressive Congress (APC) in Osun State, which alleged that Governor Adeleke had misused state funds for the donation.<\/p>\n

The APC’s claims were dismissed by the government, which highlighted Dr. Adeleke’s history of substantial donations, including to the state government under the previous administration during the COVID-19 crisis.<\/p>\n

The government also refuted attempts to incite religious tensions, pointing out that the Muslim community in Osun has significantly benefited from the current administration, citing the near-completion of the state Hajj Camp as an example.<\/p>\n
