A three-storey building on Kudirat Abiola Road, off Oregun Road in Lagos, caught fire late Friday night.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The incident, which occurred around 11:49 p.m., was triggered by an electrical surge in one of the rooms.<\/p>\n

According to Nosa Okunbor from the Lagos State Emergency Management Agency (LASEMA), the fire caused substantial property damage estimated in the millions.<\/p>\n

The agency received emergency calls and dispatched its response team promptly. <\/p>\n

They arrived at the scene at approximately 12:09 a.m.<\/p>\n

Initial findings revealed that the blaze originated from an office on the building’s third floor. <\/p>\n

The rapid response of LASEMA and the Lagos State Fire and Rescue Service prevented the fire from spreading beyond two affected rooms, though both rooms were entirely destroyed.<\/p>\n

Okunbor said:<\/p>\n

“Upon immediate response, it was discovered that the fire emanated from one of the rooms used as an office on the 3rd floor of the three-storey building at the aforementioned location.<\/p>\n

“A thorough investigation conducted by the Agency’s LRT unveiled that the fire originated from an electrical surge in one of the affected rooms. <\/p>\n

“The prompt intervention and coordinated efforts of the LRT and LASG Fire & Rescue Service ensured the fire was contained and extinguished quickly.<\/p>\n

“The action of emergency responders curtailed the fire from spreading to adjoining rooms on that floor, as the fire gutted only the two affected rooms.<\/p>\n

“The fire completely consumed the two bedrooms that were affected, resulting in total loss of properties worth millions of naira.”<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
