{"id":144667,"date":"2024-09-01T18:20:57","date_gmt":"2024-09-01T17:20:57","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/newsdigest.ng\/?p=144667"},"modified":"2024-09-01T18:20:57","modified_gmt":"2024-09-01T17:20:57","slug":"naf-kills-terrorist-kingpin","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/thepublicpulse.ng\/?p=144667","title":{"rendered":"NAF kills terrorist kingpin, foot soldiers in Kaduna"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Nigerian Air Force has eliminated terrorist leader Mustapha Abdullahi and several of his associates following a gun battle in Kaduna State with a Special Forces team from the 413 Force Protection Group.<\/p>\n<p>After receiving information that the terrorists were preparing an attack on the locals, the NAF special forces came across the terrorists while searching the forest.<\/p>\n<p>The NAF spokesperson, Edward Gabkwet, said in a statement on Sunday that the operatives had won the gunfight against the terrorists.<\/p>\n<p>He said, \u201cFollowing an intelligence report received on August 31, 2024, that a known terrorist kingpin, Mustapha Abdullahi, and five members of his group were sighted near the Sabon Gida Forest along Sabon Birni Road in Igabi Local Government Area, Kaduna State, with likely intent to kidnap, harm or kill innocent civilians, a team of Special Forces from the Nigerian Air Force 413 Force Protection Group was dispatched to comb the location.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAfter making contact with the terrorists who were on motorcycles, on sighting the Special Forces, the terrorists immediately opened fire and were met with superior firepower by the troops, eliminating all the terrorists.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Gabkwet said five Dane guns, locally fabricated sub-machine guns, among others, were recovered from the terrorists.<\/p>\n<p>He said, \u201cItems recovered from the terrorists included 5 den guns, locally fabricated sub-machine guns, and live ammunition. Others include assorted charms, lighters, sim cards and phone cases.<\/p>\n<div class=\"post-content\">\n<p>\u201cEfforts by the troops to rid Igabi, Birnin Gwari and environs of criminals and their activities remain ongoing.
