Suspected armed bandits killed a police officer and a local vigilante officer in the early hours of Monday.<\/p>\n
The state police spokesperson, ASP Ahmed Rufai, stated that bandits ambushed the officers at their checkpoint while confirming the incident.<\/p>\n
\u201cThey ambushed them at the checkpoint at Milgoma junction along Sokoto \u2013 Bodinga road and shot them at close range.<\/p>\n
\u201cOne policeman, Inspector Eze, was killed while another local vigilante also died in the process,\u201d he added<\/p>\n
The spokesman also verified that the armed bandits on the Sokoto\u2013Isa road had been neutralized.<\/p>\n
The individual went on to clarify that during the Sunday night gunfight, one AK-49 was taken from the bandits.<\/p>\n
