\u00a0Speak Out Against Maltreatment – Kennedy-Ohanenye Urges Women<\/p>\n
The Minister of Women Affairs, Barrister Uju Kennedy-Ohanenye, has called on Nigerian women to raise their voices against all forms of maltreatment faced by women, children, and vulnerable individuals in society. This appeal was made during the weekend when the National Forum of Special Advisers on Women Affairs, led by its National Coordinator, Ambassador Finney David, presented her with a Certificate of Commendation at her office in Abuja.<\/p>\n
The Minister emphasized the importance of setting the nation on a path to achieving the “Nigeria of our dreams,” where systems function effectively, and citizens are held accountable for their actions. She urged women to unite against practices that could hinder the development and well-being of society\u2019s most vulnerable groups.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe must stand together to reject the rejection of emergency patients in hospitals, the use of underage children to sell alcohol, lodging them in hotels, and other harmful practices that undermine the growth of our nation,\u201d Kennedy-Ohanenye stated.<\/p>\n
During the visit, Ambassador Finney David expressed the Forum’s appreciation for the Minister\u2019s commitment to the development of Nigerian women through life skills and economic empowerment, in line with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu\u2019s Renewed Hope Agenda. The group also discussed potential partnerships to further the Ministry’s mandate, particularly at the grassroots level.<\/p>\n
