EFCC Nab 37 suspected Internet fraudsters in Kwara<\/p>\n
The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission has disclosed that it will arraign the 37 suspected Internet fraudsters arrested in different locations in the Ilorin area of Kwara State in court.<\/p>\n
According to a statement by the commission on Wednesday, the suspects were arrested following credible intelligence about their activities in the Tanke Oke-Odo, Alao Farm Estate, Yidi Road, and Irewolede areas of Ilorin.<\/p>\n

The statement noted that operatives of the commission arrested 15 of the suspects in a location in the Tanke area of the state capital, while 22 others were arrested in an earlier operation in other parts of the state capital.<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
The statement read, \u201cOperatives of the Ilorin Zonal Directorate of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission on Wednesday, March 26, 2025, arrested 15 suspected internet fraudsters in the Tanke Oke-Odo area of Ilorin, the Kwara State capital.<\/p>\n
\u201cOfficers of the directorate had earlier on Friday, March 22, 2025, arrested 22 suspected Internet fraudsters in Tanke, Alao Farm Estate, Yidi Road, and Irewolede areas of Ilorin.<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
\u201cBoth arrests brought to 37 the number of suspected Internet fraudsters rounded up in Ilorin by the anti-graft in a space of one week.\u201d<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
The statement added that exhibits including luxury cars, smartphones and laptops were recovered from the suspects.<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
It continued that the suspect would be charged in court upon the conclusion of an ongoing investigation.<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
\u201cThe arrest of the suspects followed credible intelligence that linked them to fraudulent internet activities. Items recovered from them at the point of arrest included eight luxury cars, smartphones and high-end laptop computers.<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
\u201cThe suspects will be charged in court upon the conclusion of investigations,\u201d the statement concluded.<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
Recall that on February 25, the EFCC operatives arrested 59 individuals for alleged internet fraud.<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
According to the agency, the suspects were apprehended at Abacha Road in the Mararaba area, a key gateway between Nasarawa State and Abuja.<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
