Fg Introduces Digital Transformation in Health Ministry with Enterprise Content Management System<\/p>\n
The Federal Government has achieved a major milestone in its public sector digital transformation agenda with the official launch of the Enterprise Content Management (ECM) system at the Federal Ministry of Health and Social Welfare, marking a significant shift towards paperless governance, transparency, and efficiency in service delivery.<\/p>\n
The ECM system, developed under the broader Federal Civil Service Strategy and Implementation Plan 2021\u20132025 (FCSSIP 25), is designed to digitize records, automate workflows, and drastically reduce reliance on paper-based processes. The system is part of the federal government\u2019s goal to achieve 80% digitalization of government operations by the end of 2025 and a fully paperless civil service by 2030.<\/p>\n
The Ministry’s Head of Press and Public Relations, Mr. Alaba Balogun, in a statement, disclosed that the Coordinating Minister for Health and Social Welfare, Professor Muhammad Ali Pate,
\nwhile speaking at the launch in Abuja, Monday,
\napplauded the leadership and workforce, describing them as a \u201cstrong, coherent, and incredibly dedicated team\u201d led by Permanent Secretary Daju Kachollom mni.<\/p>\n
He commended the professionalism and tireless efforts of the ministry\u2019s staff, noting that their commitment over the last two years has laid the foundation for a transformative shift in health governance.<\/p>\n
\u201cThis is more than theory; we are witnessing real implementation, and I have seen firsthand how our teams are delivering on the vision of a digital, client-oriented service”<\/p>\n
\u201cThe ECM is not just a tool; it\u2019s a manifestation of a new way of working that is efficient, responsive, and transformational.\u201d he said<\/p>\n
According to him, if sustained, the model will transform not just the civil service but the country at large<\/p>\n
Head of the Civil Service of the Federation (HoCSF), Mrs. Didi Esther Walson-Jack OON, in her address, emphasized that the launch reflects government\u2019s commitment to building a responsive, citizen-centered public service.<\/p>\n
\u201cThis is about reimagining how we work and serve Nigerians in a digital era,\u201d she said. \u201cWith ECM, the Federal Ministry of Health joins a growing group of MDAs leading this change, proof that we are not just driving policy from the top, but living the transformation we seek.\u201d<\/p>\n
Mrs Walson-Jack disclosed that over 31,000 official government email addresses have already been deployed across MDAs as part of the digital push noting that the OHCSF\u2019s new website powered by Galaxy Backbone\u2019s Virtual Private Server (VPS), is set to go live<\/p>\n
She stated that ongoing digital literacy assessments are helping to guide targeted training efforts across the service.<\/p>\n
In her remarks, Permanent Secretary of the Ministry, Daju Kachollom, highlighted the ECM system\u2019s potential to revolutionize record-keeping, collaboration, and data security within the ministry.<\/p>\n
\u201cThis is not just an upgrade, it\u2019s a shift to a secure, integrated approach that will enhance service delivery, cut costs, and align us with national development priorities,\u201d she said, urging staff to embrace the change and lead with innovation.<\/p>\n
The Federal Ministry of Health and Social Welfare now becomes the 11th core MDA to go-live on the ECM platform, joining the likes of the Office of the Head of Service, the State House, and the Ministries of Finance, Education, and Solid Minerals Development.<\/p>\n
