{"id":146813,"date":"2025-07-01T22:19:41","date_gmt":"2025-07-01T21:19:41","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/thepublicpulse.ng\/?p=146813"},"modified":"2025-07-01T22:19:41","modified_gmt":"2025-07-01T21:19:41","slug":"sim-services-for-disruption-nationwide-amid-nimc-platform-switch","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/thepublicpulse.ng\/?p=146813","title":{"rendered":"SIM services to be disrupted nationwide amid NIMC platform switch"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>SIM services to be disrupted nationwide amid NIMC platform switch<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>The Association of Licensed Telecommunications Operators of Nigeria says there will be temporary disruption of SIM-related services across all mobile networks in Nigeria.<\/p>\n<p>ALTON disclosed this in a statement signed and released on Tuesday by its Chairman, Mr Gbenga Adebayo, and Publicity Secretary, Mr Damian Udeh<\/p>\n<p>Adebayo said the disruption follows a directive from the National Identity Management Commission to switch to a new identity verification platform.<\/p>\n<p>He explained that the migration process has caused unforeseen technical challenges, affecting the availability of SIM services nationwide.<\/p>\n<p>The new platform aims to improve the integrity and efficiency of identity management systems.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHowever, the transition has temporarily hindered Mobile Network Operators from offering seamless SIM-related services,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>He said operators will not process SIM swaps, replacements, new activations, or related services during this period.<\/p>\n<p>ALTON and member firms are working with the Nigerian Communications Commission, NIMC, and other authorities to fix the integration issues.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe regret the inconvenience and urge subscribers to delay SIM-related requests until further notice,\u201d he advised.<\/p>\n<p>Adebayo assured the public of continued commitment to secure and high-quality telecom services.<\/p>\n<p>He added that timely updates would be shared as the situation progresses.<\/p>\n<p>(NAN)<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>SIM services to be disrupted nationwide amid NIMC platform switch &nbsp; The Association of Licensed Telecommunications Operators of Nigeria says there will be temporary disruption of SIM-related services across all mobile networks in Nigeria.
