FG Champions PPP in Healthcare as Dr. Salako Visits Everight Diagnostics<\/p>\n
The Federal Government has reiterated its commitment to strengthening public-private partnerships (PPP) in the health sector, in alignment with the Nigeria Health Sector Renewal Investment Programme and the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR.<\/p>\n
This commitment was reaffirmed during an official visit by Dr. Iziaq Adekunle Salako, Honourable Minister of State for Health and Social Welfare to Everight Diagnostic and Laboratory Services Ltd, Abuja, showcasing a clear demonstration of national inclusiveness and strategic engagement with key private sector players.<\/p>\n
In a statement issued by Alaba Balogun, the Ministry’s Head, Information and Public Relations, Dr. Salako commended the laboratory for its innovation, resilience, and significant contribution to the reduction of medical brain drain by providing opportunities for Nigerian professionals to thrive at home.<\/p>\n
\u201cI\u2019m impressed by what you\u2019ve built here. It takes vision, perseverance, and collaboration,\u201d the Minister said. \u201cThis is the kind of model the government encourages where the private sector grows and contributes meaningfully to national health development.\u201d<\/p>\n
He urged medical professionals in the country to believe in the possibilities within the nation, noting that those who choose to stay and build local institutions are helping to shape a stronger future for Nigeria\u2019s healthcare system.<\/p>\n
\u201cWhen you leave your country, no matter how hard you try, you\u2019re unlikely to be number one. But here, you can create value, build systems, and lead in your own right,\u201d he emphasized.<\/p>\n
The Chairman\/CEO Everight Diagnostics, Dr. Everest Okpara, while receiving the Minister,
\nexpressed gratitude for the recognition and support.<\/p>\n
He underscored the Organization’s mission aimed at reducing capital flight through quality diagnostic services and strategic partnerships within Nigeria.<\/p>\n
\u201cYour visit is a huge morale boost for us. It means our efforts are being seen and appreciated,\u201d said the Managing Director. \u201cWe are working towards reducing the over $2 billion lost annually to medical tourism and the outsourcing of advanced laboratory tests abroad.\u201d<\/p>\n
The visit laid the foundation for deeper collaboration between Everight Diagnostics and the Federal Ministry of Health, as both parties committed to leveraging PPP models to drive excellence, innovation, and sustainability in healthcare delivery.<\/p>\n
Dr. Salako’s visit is widely seen as a signal of the present administration\u2019s seriousness in supporting indigenous healthcare solutions and harnessing the potential of Nigeria\u2019s private sector to advance universal health coverage.<\/p>\n
The Minister toured various state-of-the-art facilities, including:-Histopathology & Cytology Laboratory, Radiological Department (MRI and CT Scan facilities), X-ray, Ultrasound and Clinical Laboratory.<\/p>\n
