FG Slashes Dialysis Cost to N12,000 per Session in Federal Hospitals Nationwide<\/p>\n

In a significant move aimed at providing relief to patients with kidney-related diseases and expanding access to Universal health coverage in the country, the Federal Government has slashed the cost of dialysis in all the Federal hospitals across the country from N50,000 per session to N12,000<\/p>\n
The new subsidy scheme is\u00a0a deliberate initiative of the present administration to save lives, reduce both physical and financial suffering, especially amongst vulnerable Nigerians.<\/p>\n
In a statement issued today by Alaba Balogun, Head of Information and Public Relations at the Federal Ministry of Health and Social Welfare, the implementation of the pilot scheme is ongoing in the following eleven (11nos.) Federal Tertiary Health institutions across the geo-political zones of the country and, will be expanded in due time:<\/p>\n
1. Aminu Kano Teaching Hospital
\n2. University of Maiduguri Teaching Hospital
\n3. Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University Teaching Hospital
\n4. University of Jos Teaching Hospital
\n5. National Hospital, Abuja
\n6. Federal Medical Centre, Ebute Metta
\n7. University College Hospital, Ibadan
\n8. University of Benin Teaching Hospital
\n9. Federal Medical Centre, Yenagoa
\n10. Federal Teaching Hospital, Owerri
\n11. Federal Medical Centre, Abakaliki<\/p>\n
According to the statement, “This Release is being issued to categorically state that the Federal Government has not excluded the Northwest states in the dialysis subsidy, contrary to claims in some media reports.”<\/p>\n
The Statement noted the Federal Government’s commitment to ensuring that under its Renewed Hope Agenda, no Nigerian is left behind in accessing healthcare services across the country, noting that more Federal hospitals will be added in the safety net to widen access for the subsidized dialysis sessions.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
