{"id":148189,"date":"2025-09-01T14:04:44","date_gmt":"2025-09-01T13:04:44","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/thepublicpulse.ng\/?p=148189"},"modified":"2025-09-01T14:04:44","modified_gmt":"2025-09-01T13:04:44","slug":"fg-unveils-new-curricula-for-basic-secondary-schools","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/thepublicpulse.ng\/?p=148189","title":{"rendered":"FG unveils new curricula for basic, secondary schools"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>FG unveils new curricula for basic, secondary schools<\/p>\n<p>The Nigerian government has unveiled comprehensive curricula across basic, senior secondary and technical education, aimed at reducing overload and enhancing quality learning outcomes.<\/p>\n<p>The new curricula will commence in the 2025\/2026 academic session.<\/p>\n<p>Announcing the development on behalf of the Minister of Education, Dr. Maruf Tunji Alausa, the Minister of State for Education, Prof. Suwaiba Sai\u2019d Ahmad, said the review was conducted in collaboration with the Nigerian Educational Research and Development Council (NERDC), Universal Basic Education Commission (UBEC), National Senior Secondary Education Commission (NSSEC), National Board for Technical Education (NBTE), and other key stakeholders.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe new framework balances subject offerings with deeper, more practical learning.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAt the primary level, pupils in Primary 1\u20133 will offer 9\u201310 subjects, while those in Primary 4\u20136 will take 10\u201312.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cFor Junior Secondary School, the range is 12\u201314 subjects; Senior Secondary students will take 8\u20139, and technical schools will offer 9\u201311 subjects, &#8220;a statement yesterday by Director, Press and Public Relations in the ministry, Folasade Boriowo, read.<\/p>\n<p>Ahmad stressed that the revised curricula are designed to reduce content overload, allow more time for learning, and ensure that education remains relevant to the realities of today\u2019s world.<\/p>\n<p>The ministry commended stakeholders for their commitment and assured them that the new curricula would be implemented with strict monitoring to guarantee effective adoption and a smooth transition in schools nationwide.<br \/>\n(Guardian)<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>FG unveils new curricula for basic, secondary schools The Nigerian government has unveiled comprehensive curricula across basic, senior secondary and technical education, aimed at reducing overload and enhancing quality learning outcomes.
