Residents, Bandits Sign Peace Deal Under Operation Safe Corridor in Katsina<\/p>\n
A peace accord has been reached between the Musawa Local Government Area (LGA) community and bandit elements under the Katsina State Government\u2019s Operation Safe Corridor initiative.<\/p>\n
The dialogue, which took place on Sunday at Tashar Mai Alewa Primary School in Danmusa LGA, was convened to promote sustainable peace, reconciliation, and an end to hostilities in the area.<\/p>\n

Leading the Musawa delegation was the Council Chairman, supported by the District Head of Musawa and other traditional and community stakeholders. The bandits\u2019 representatives, Ummaru Munore and Wada Turawa, participated in the talks through their mediator, Ardo Abdulkarim Yantumaki.<\/p>\n

According to a communique issued after the meeting, both parties agreed to strengthen peaceful coexistence, ensure the release of kidnapped and arrested persons, and work towards maintaining justice and order.<\/p>\n

Speakers from both sides reaffirmed their commitment to the accord, pledging to uphold peace and prevent further violence.<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
The peace dialogue commenced at 2:00 p.m. and concluded by 3:40 p.m. without incident. Security agencies have since intensified patrols and monitoring in the area to consolidate the gains of the agreement and reassure residents of their safety.<\/p>\n
