{"id":148805,"date":"2025-10-04T11:59:40","date_gmt":"2025-10-04T10:59:40","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/thepublicpulse.ng\/?p=148805"},"modified":"2025-10-04T11:59:40","modified_gmt":"2025-10-04T10:59:40","slug":"pencom-reintroduces-gratuity-for-federal-civil-servants","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/thepublicpulse.ng\/?p=148805","title":{"rendered":"PenCom reintroduces gratuity for federal civil servants"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>PenCom reintroduces gratuity for federal civil servants<\/p>\n<p>The National Pension Commission has disclosed that it has deployed a framework to restore gratuity for Federal Civil Service under the Contributory Pension Scheme.<\/p>\n<p>Director-General of PenCom, Omolola Oloworaran made the disclosure in Abuja on Thursday at a Stakeholders\u2019 Conference on the Workings of the Contributory Pension Scheme (CPS) for Employees and Pensioners of Federal Government Treasury-Funded Ministries, Departments and Agencies<\/p>\n<p>Represented by the acting commissioner, Technical at the commission, Hon. Hafiz Kawu Ibrahim, the DG said, \u201cWorking with the office of the Head of the Civil Service, a framework has been developed to restore gratuity benefits for federal workers under CPS, in line with Section 4(4) of the PRA 2014.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The DG added that \u201cPenCom has enhanced pensions for over 241,000 retirees, representing 80% of those under Programmed Withdrawal. Monthly pensions rose from N12.157 billion to N14.837 billion, effective June 2025.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAlso, since July 2025, no retiree waits to access their pensions.
