<\/strong><\/p>\nAccording to a statement by the Ministry’s Director of Information and Public Relations, Mr. Mohammed Ahmed, the Minister of Works, Senator Engr David Umahi, at the Commissioning ceremony,
\nemphasized the Federal Government’s commitment to initiating projects and also ensuring timely completion.<\/p>\n
Represented by the State Chairman, Nigeria Union of Journalists, (NUJ), Mrs. Ayiku Pwaspo, he stated that the roads will be constructed to approved standards, highlighting the importance of quality infrastructure for sustainable development.<\/p>\n
Engr. Jibril Shua\u2019ibu, Federal Controller of Works (FCW) Plateau State, provided technical details on the projects, explaining that the Reinstatement of Embankment Washouts on the Shendam-Lafia Road, awarded at \u20a6824 million, was completed within months, restoring safe traffic flow. The repairs included a 2.0m x 1.5m double-cell box culvert at Chainage 1+500.<\/p>\n

He also highlighted an ongoing 16km stretch from Lafia-Shendam Road Junction to Ngotuguut, awarded to Triacta Construction Company at \u20a616 billion with a 15-month completion period (52% complete), noting that 7km Section II is undergoing procurement. Funding issues have been resolved, and the project is progressing well<\/p>\n
The Project Manager, Mr. Nakhle Abou Yaounde reaffirmed the contractor’s commitment to delivering the project on time in accordance with approved specifications, commending the Ministry’s supervision and host communities’ cooperation<\/p>\n
On hehalf of the Community, Pharmacist Senpet Yitnoe, the Liaison Officer, described the Lafia-Shendam Junction-Poeship-Ngotuguut Road as a “road to endless possibilities”, highlighting that it will boost access to farms, schools, and economic opportunities and pledged community’s continued support<\/p>\n
Engr. Kenneth, Project Coordinator for Ric Rock Construction, stated that the project, which includes bridges and a 7.3m carriageway width with 2.75m shoulders.
\nwill cut travel time between communities from 2 hours to 20 minutes with cooperation from host communities<\/p>\n
Engr. Augustine Imiere, Site Agent added that the Babban Lamba-Sharram Road, which includes hydraulic structures, drainage, and 5 bridges.will open up markets, boost business access, and improve socio-economic activities in the area<\/p>\n

It will be recalled that the administration inherited 2,064 ongoing federal road projects upon assumption of office in May 2023, majorly abandoned due to funding.
