FG Begins Technical Review of Innovation to Drive Commercialisation<\/p>\n

The Federal Government has began the technical assessment of innovations shortlisted under its Energise Commercialisation Now, ECoN, programme in Kano, as part of efforts to convert research outputs into market-ready products.<\/p>\n

Speaking at the second day of the nationwide exercise, Minister of Innovation, Science and Technology, Dr. Kingsley Tochukwu Udeh, stated that the initiative would \u201caccelerate the conversion of research outputs into market-ready products and services that drive national development.\u201d<\/p>\n

He noted that the technical review by expert assessors is a critical step in bridging the gap between research and industry, creating a platform for researchers, investors, and policymakers to unlock economic value from local innovations.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe programme will help innovators move from ideas to viable enterprises that create jobs, generate wealth, and make Nigeria globally competitive,\u201d Udeh said.<\/p>\n

The Minister lauded the First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu for her support for the initiative and also commended the Kano State Government for hosting the session as well as providing an enabling environment for innovation in Northern Nigeria.<\/p>\n

Kano State Commissioner for Information and Internal Affairs, Comrade Ibrahim Abdullahi Waiya, disclosed that the State and the North-West region would support the programme to ensure it impacts livelihoods.<\/p>\n
