TCN Commissions 300MVA Transformer at Katampe Substation, Abuja<\/p>\n

The Transmission Company of Nigeria has commissioned a 300MVA 330\/132kV power transformer at its Katampe 330\/132\/33kV Transmission Substation, Abuja<\/p>\n

With the commissioning of the new 300MVA power transformer, the substation\u2019s capacity has increased from 450MVA to 750MVA. The upgrade means TCN now has more power available at Katampe Substation for Abuja Electricity Distribution Company to take for distribution to customers in Abuja and environs.<\/p>\n

Speaking at the commissioning ceremony, the General Manager, Transmission, Abuja Region, Engr. Musa Shuaibu, noted that the installation and commissioning of the transformer underscores TCN\u2019s commitment to the continuous expansion of the transmission network.<\/p>\n

This, he said, will support increased power delivery, enhance overall grid stability, and facilitate better electricity supply to distribution load centers nationwide.<\/p>\n

The project was executed under the TCN-World Bank collaborative initiative, which forms part of strategic efforts to rehabilitate and expand the nation\u2019s transmission network.<\/p>\n
