AIT Partners with NAWOJ to Spotlight Women in Security at WINSEC Summit 2026<\/p>\n
The African Independent Television (AIT) has partnered with the Nigeria Association of Women Journalists (NAWOJ) to provide live coverage and media support for the inaugural Women in Security Summit and Awards (WINSEC) 2026.<\/p>\n
The commitment was made during a courtesy visit by NAWOJ\u2019s National Chairperson and Chairperson of the WINSEC Central Planning Committee, Hajiya Aisha Ibrahim, who led the WINSEC Secretariat to the management of Daar Communications Plc, owners of AIT, in Abuja.<\/p>\n
Receiving the delegation, AIT Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer, Chief Marcel Anyanyechi, commended NAWOJ for creating a platform that recognizes the courage, sacrifice, and contributions of women in Nigeria\u2019s security architecture.<\/p>\n
He described the WINSEC Summit and Awards as timely and capable of inspiring patriotism, excellence, and greater commitment among security personnel and stakeholders.<\/p>\n
\u201cNational security is a collective responsibility that requires active participation from the media, security agencies, government, and citizens,\u201d Anyanyechi said.<\/p>\n
On behalf of AIT\u2019s board, management, and staff, he assured the WINSEC team of the station\u2019s full support for the summit.<\/p>\n
As part of the partnership, AIT will provide:<\/p>\n
– *Live coverage* of the awards segment to ensure national visibility and audience engagement
\n– *Comprehensive news coverage* through AIT news crews deployed at the event
\n– *Promotional support* via airing of event publicity materials on AIT platforms
\n– *Scroll message announcements* ahead of the event to raise awareness and mobilize public interest
\n– *Technical support and guidance* to refine promotional materials to broadcast standards<\/p>\n
Anyanyechi reiterated AIT\u2019s commitment to using its platforms to promote national security awareness, public enlightenment, and responsible journalism.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe will work with you and collaborate to ensure the ceremony is successful. Those making sacrifices for the peace and security of our nation deserve to be recognized and honoured,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
Earlier, Hajiya Aisha Ibrahim thanked AIT for its reception and support. She said WINSEC is a strategic platform to strengthen conversations on security, peacebuilding, gender inclusion, leadership, and national development, while recognizing women and others making remarkable contributions to Nigeria\u2019s security sector.<\/p>\n
The Women in Security Summit and Awards (WINSEC) 2026, themed _\u201cCelebrating Courage, Passion, Loyalty, Commitment and Sacrifice of Women in Securing the Nation,\u201d_ will hold on June 30, 2026, at the Transcorp Hilton Hotel, Abuja.<\/p>\n
The summit will convene stakeholders from the security, media, governance, and civil society sectors to discuss national security and gender inclusion, and to honour outstanding contributors to Nigeria\u2019s security and development<\/p>\n
