FG ANNOUNCES INVESTMENT IN GRID STABILIZATION TO END RECURRING COLLAPSES<\/p>\n
In a move to deliver reliable electricity supply, the Federal Government has announced fresh investment to stabilize the national grid against recurring collapses and voltage fluctuations.<\/p>\n
The Honourable Minister of Power, Joseph Tegbe, said the Ministry was moving beyond short-term fixes toward a structural overhaul of the transmission network, describing grid stability as \u201cthe foundation on which every other promise to Nigerians on power must be built.\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cWe cannot talk about generation gains or distribution reforms if the grid itself is fragile. This administration is committed to a stable, resilient national grid, not as a slogan, but as a measurable, time-bound programme of work,\u201d the Minister said.<\/p>\n
Acknowledging a trust deficit, the Minister added: \u201cWe are not asking for blind faith. We are asking to be held to account against clear milestones, and that is exactly what we intend to do.\u201d<\/p>\n
This was disclosed in a statement signed by Clement Ezeorah, Deputy Director, Press and Public Relations, Federal Ministry of Power<\/p>\n
According to the statement, a Technical Working Committee on Grid Stabilization has been constituted to drive the initiative. The Committee will bring together engineering and regulatory expertise to address transmission bottlenecks, ageing infrastructure, and frequent system collapses.<\/p>\n
It will work closely with the Transmission Company of Nigeria, TCN, and the Nigerian Independent System Operator, NISO, to identify priority intervention points.<\/p>\n
Officials said the planned investment will focus on reinforcing critical transmission corridors, expanding grid redundancy, and modernizing control and monitoring systems.<\/p>\n
The Ministry added that updates on the programme would be communicated regularly to citizens, investors and other stakeholders.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
