MARINE MINISTRY EXPLORES FINANCING PARTNERSHIP WITH CORONATION GROUP<\/p>\n
The Permanent Secretary, Federal Ministry of Marine and Blue Economy, Mrs. Fatima Sugra Tabi\u2019a Mahmood, has reaffirmed the Ministry’s commitment to leveraging strategic partnerships and innovative financing to accelerate infrastructure development in Nigeria’s marine and blue economy.<\/p>\n
She stated this on Thursday, 6th August 2026, while receiving a delegation from Coronation Group on a courtesy visit to the Ministry in Abuja.<\/p>\n
In a statement by Anastasia Ogbonna, the Ministry’s Director of Press & Public Relations, Mrs. Mahmood noted that the successful implementation of the Ministry’s programmes requires sustained investment and long-term financing, adding that collaboration with credible financial institutions is critical to mobilising capital for key sectors of the marine and blue economy.<\/p>\n
The Permanent Secretary assured the delegation that the Ministry would evaluate the range of financial products and services presented to determine areas of alignment with its strategic priorities and policy objectives.<\/p>\n
She directed the relevant department to undertake a comprehensive review of the proposals with a view to identifying viable areas of collaboration, including the possibility of syndicated financing for major infrastructure projects.<\/p>\n
Furthermore, she said investment opportunities for Ministry staff, including investment and share acquisition schemes, would be examined in accordance with extant regulatory and institutional guidelines.<\/p>\n
Mrs. Mahmood commended Coronation Group for its longstanding relationship with the Ministry and appreciated the organisation’s previous support towards Civil Service capacity development and digital transformation initiatives.<\/p>\n
Earlier, the Director of Coronation Group, Mr. David Aluko, presented the Group’s portfolio of financial services, highlighting its capabilities in merchant banking, securities, registrar services, life and general insurance, asset management, financial advisory, and fund management.<\/p>\n
He said the Group is well-positioned to mobilise long-term capital for infrastructure development and disclosed that its \u20a620 billion Infrastructure Development Fund was established to finance critical projects while providing sustainable investment opportunities for institutional and private investors.`<\/p>\n
Mr. Aluko also highlighted the Group’s capacity to aggregate investment funds and structure infrastructure financing solutions through transparent and fully regulated financial instruments under the oversight of the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC).<\/p>\n
The meeting is part of the Ministry’s broader strategy to deepen collaboration with the private sector, attract sustainable investments and deploy innovative financing solutions to accelerate the growth and competitiveness of Nigeria’s marine and blue economy.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
