NWDC Hosts Board Subcommittee, Seeks Guidance on Institutional Take-Off<\/p>\n
Members of the North-West Development Commission’s Board Subcommittee on Establishment, Governance and Human Resources have paid an inaugural oversight visit to the Commission’s office in Kano to align on key requirements for the effective commencement of the Commission\u2019s mandate across the seven Northwest states.<\/p>\n
The meeting marked the first joint engagement between the subcommittee and NWDC management.<\/p>\n
This was contained in a statement issued by Abdulrashid Safana, the Commission’s Director of Press and Public Relations<\/p>\n
Receiving them in the office on Thursday, August 27, 2026, the Managing Director\/Chief Executive, NWDC, Professor Shehu Ma\u2019aji said the subcommittee\u2019s oversight is critical at this foundational stage of the Commission.<\/p>\n
\u201cOn behalf of management, I sincerely appreciate your presence and commitment to ensuring that this organization is properly positioned to fulfill its mandate. Your oversight role is particularly important as we work towards establishing a strong institutional foundation,\u201d he said<\/p>\n
The MD\/CEO identified personnel and office accommodation as priority areas requiring the subcommittee\u2019s guidance.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe look forward to your guidance on our staffing structure, manpower requirements, capacity development, and deployment. We will also appreciate your consideration of our current and projected space requirements and the necessary infrastructure to support our operations,\u201d Professor Ma\u2019aji stated.<\/p>\n
He stressed that coordinated decisions on staffing, office facilities, operational procedures, and logistics are critical for the Commission to commence full activities and deliver on its mandate in Jigawa, Kaduna, Kano, Katsina, Kebbi, Sokoto, and Zamfara States.<\/p>\n
The Chairman of the Subcommittee, Dr. Yahaya Aminu, and other members were in attendance. The subcommittee is expected to review NWDC\u2019s proposals and provide recommendations to the Governing Board to strengthen the Commission\u2019s institutional and human resource framework.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
