Former Rangers International Star, Kenneth Abana, Passes Away

Former Rangers International footballer, Kenneth Abana, passed away in his hometown of Nri, located in Anaocha Local Government Area of Anambra State.

Abana, who was widely recognized by his nickname “Magic,” died at the age of 75 after a prolonged battle with illness.

For over five years, Abana had been suffering from severe arthritis, which left him bedridden and reliant on a wheelchair.

His health challenges intensified in 2022 when he suffered a stroke.

He was initially taken to the General Hospital in Enugu-Ukwu, but his condition required more specialized care, leading to his referral to a specialist hospital.

A neurosurgeon who attended to Abana confirmed that he had a partial stroke, a condition that could be managed with ongoing treatment.

However, his condition continued to deteriorate, ultimately resulting in the amputation of one of his legs about two years ago.

Despite showing signs of improvement after the surgery, Abana’s health continued to decline.

In a bid to support him, Senator Stella Oduah, through Arthur Ebonam, provided him with a wheelchair. Tragically, Abana passed away in the early hours of Sunday.
