Media Gets Sustainability Boost at Sterling’s NSW 2025 Training
The Sterling Sustainability Working Group, driving sustainability for Sterling Financial Holdings Company (Sterling Bank and Alternative Bank), organized a 2-day Training Workshop for media professionals to equip publishers, editors, and reporters with skills for success.

Addressing participants in Abuja, the Group’s Chairperson, Mrs. Bunmi Ajiboye highlighted that sustainability transcends environmental conversation to development, economic, innovation, and a people conversation.
She emphasized media’s power in shaping behaviour and society through citizen-centred reportage, calling for their partnership in driving Sterling’s HEART (Health, Education, Agriculture, Renewable Energy, Transport) initiative which is targeted at empowering Nigeria’s youth, women, and vulnerable groups.
“Your stories can ignite action, correct misinformation, and inspire change,” she said
Mrs. Ajiboye therefore urged the media to leverage the power of storytelling to re-orientate the minds of Nigerians, policymakers and other stakeholders on the need to drive sustainability in every field of human endeavour for the socio-economic development iof the country
The workshop organised in collaboration with Climate Africa Media Initiative and Centre (CAMIC) as part of 2025 National Sustainability Week, among others, covered AI for Content Optimization, Financial Sustainability in Media, and Media Ethics, with expert facilitators.
