WORKERS’ DAY: TCN, NISO HOLD UNITY FOOTBALL MATCH
The Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) and the Nigerian Independent System Operator (NISO) held a novelty football match to mark 2026 Workers’ Day, promoting unity, teamwork, healthy living, and staff well-being across both organisations.
TCN defeated NISO 5–3 in the keenly contested match played in a lively and friendly atmosphere. Both sides displayed impressive teamwork, skill, and sportsmanship.
Organised by the National Union of Electricity Employees (NUEE), the event underscored the importance of strengthening workplace relationships beyond formal settings. It reinforced both organisations’ shared commitment to collaboration, employee engagement, and healthy living.
Management staff from both organisations attended the match. From TCN were Executive Director, Transmission Service Provider, Engr. Oluwagbenga Ajiboye; Executive Director, Finance & Accounts, Mr. Chuks Ochijie; and General Manager, Engineering, Engr. Mojeed Akintola.
NISO was represented by Executive Director, Finance & Corporate Services, Mr. Ibironke Babajide; General Manager, Human Resources, Mrs. Tijanni Halima; and General Manager, Legal Services, Barr. Bashiru Mohammed, alongside other staff members.
