Arts and Culture Permanent Secretary Receives Departmental Briefing, Urges Professionalism, Teamwork

The newly posted Permanent Secretary of the Federal Ministry of Arts, Culture, Tourism and Creative Economy, Mr. Abdulkarim Ibrahim, on Wednesday, received a departmental briefing from Directors and Heads of Units at the Ministry’s headquarters in Abuja as part of his official onboarding process.

The briefing covered departmental mandates, ongoing programmes and projects, key achievements and challenges, budget performance, resource gaps, and recommendations for improved service delivery.

In his remarks, Ibrahim said the exercise would give him a clear understanding of the Ministry’s current position and help chart a realistic, results-oriented path forward in line with the Federal Government’s Renewed Hope Agenda.

“Our actions must consistently reflect the guiding principles of the Civil Service — transparency, accountability, efficiency, and the rule of law — in line with the Public Service Rules and other extant regulations governing our conduct,” he said.

The Permanent Secretary emphasized *teamwork, commitment, and professionalism* as the foundation for result-oriented service delivery.

In a statement issued by the Ministry’s Head of Information and Public Relations, Amadi Uloma, he also assured staff of an inclusive leadership style and an open-door policy to enhance efficiency, responsiveness, innovation, and continuous improvement.

Earlier, the Director of Planning, Research and Statistics, Dr. Zainab Pisaghi, stated that the briefing would provide detailed updates on key initiatives, stakeholder collaborations, achievements, challenges, and the way forward.

She added that it would also help set a roadmap to harness Nigeria’s cultural potential and position the country as a leading destination
