SGF Tasks City Boy Movement on Grassroots Sensitisation of Tinubu’s Achievements
The Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Sen. George Akume, has tasked the City Boy Movement to take the Tinubu administration’s achievements to the grassroots.
Receiving members of the Movement, led by its DG, Mr. Oluwatosin Shoga, Thursday, the SGF stated that Tinubu’s record is unmatched, despite inheriting enormous economic challenges
He cited the completion of long-abandoned roads, including sections of the Abuja-Kaduna corridor, as well as numerous roads, universities, schools, power projects and dams across the six geopolitical zones awaiting commissioning.
In a statement by OSGF’s Head of Information and Public Relations, Chris Ugwugbulam, Sen Akume highlighted the rebuilding of foreign reserves from near zero to almost 50 billion dollars as one of the administration’s landmark achievements
“This government has, within a very short period, regenerated our reserves from virtually zero to close to 50 billion dollars. That is a record that has not been witnessed in many decades. It is a product of bold reforms, careful planning, commitment and purposeful leadership,” he noted.
He further tasked members of the Movement to intensify grassroots sensitization by taking President Tinubu’s scorecard directly to the grassroots across the nation. “You have a responsibility to help tell Nigerians what this government is doing. Many people only need access to factual information. Take the message to the grassroots so that citizens can appreciate the impact of the Renewed Hopeu Agenda,” he urged
In his welcome address, the Permanent Secretary, General Services Office [GSO], Dr. Ibrahim Kana, described Akume as one of President Tinubu’s true loyalists, whose invaluable contributions to the Renewed Hope Agenda cannot be over-emphasised.
Earlier, the Director-General of the City Boy Movement, Mr. Oluwatosin Shoga, commended Sen. Akume for his unwavering support for the Tinubu administration and sought OSGF’s collaboration to strengthen grassroots awareness of the administration’s achievementsi
Shoga conveyed goodwill from the Movement’s Patron, Mr. Seyi Tinubu, and stated that the Movement, one of Africa’s largest youth platforms, has begun a new phase of nationwide mobilisation after engagements in states including Benue.
“The real engagement has begun. We believe that effective communication and sustained grassroots mobilisation are essential to ensuring that Nigerians appreciate the achievements of this administration and the vision behind its reforms,” he stated.
