SGF George Akume Donates Two Buses to OSGF Staff in a Show of Fatherly Love
The Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Senator George Akume, CON, has donated two buses to staff of his Office in a gesture aimed at improving their welfare.`
The Permanent Secretary, General Services Office, Dr. Ibrahim Abubakar Kana, who represented the SGF at the presentation ceremony held Friday at the OSGF premises in Abuja, described the gesture as a clear demonstration of fatherly love, care and appreciation.
Presenting the buses, Senator Akume said the donation was to ease transportation challenges for staff and boost morale and productivity within the Office. He noted that staff remain the engine room of government and deserve support that promotes their well-being, in line with the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR.
“This is my own little way of showing love and appreciation to you all for your dedication, loyalty and hard work in service to our nation. I encourage you to continue to give your best in the discharge of your duties,” he said
In a statement by Chris Ugwuegbulam, OSGF’s Head of Information and Public Relations, the SGF urged the beneficiaries to make judicious use of the buses and ensure they are properly maintained for the collective benefit of staff.
In his response, the Chairman of the Joint Council Union, Comrade Paul Idowu, speaking on behalf of staff, expressed gratitude to the SGF for the kind gesture, describing the donation as unprecedented and a clear demonstration of Senator Akume’s people-oriented leadership.
He pledged that staff would reciprocate the gesture with renewed commitment, diligence and patriotism in the performance of their duties.
The presentation ceremony was witnessed by top management staff of the Office and party faithful of the All Progressives Congress, APC, from Benue State led by the State Chairman, Mr. Austin Agada.
