NAF Releases Names Of 25 Victims Of Ondo ATR 42 Aircraft Crash
The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) has released the names of 25 personnel and passengers who died in the ATR 42 aircraft crash in Igbokoda, Ondo State.
In a statement on Tuesday, NAF Director of Public Relations and Information, Air Commodore Ehimen Ejodame, said the aircraft with call sign NAF 931 was on a routine mission from Benin to Lagos when the incident occurred. Search-and-rescue operations were immediately activated in coordination with relevant authorities, but no survivors were found.
The Chief of the Air Staff (CAS), Air Marshal Sunday Kelvin Aneke, described the crash as a deeply painful moment for the Nigerian Air Force and the nation. He expressed heartfelt condolences to the families, loved ones and colleagues of the deceased and assured them of the Service’s full support.

Ejodame said the CAS has directed a comprehensive investigation to determine the circumstances surrounding the crash.
He added that the NAF will provide timely and verified updates as the investigation progresses and urged the public to refrain from speculation and the circulation of unverified information, while respecting the privacy and dignity of the affected families.
A condolence register has been opened at the Headquarters of the Nigerian Air Force in Abuja for senior government officials, members of the diplomatic corps, heads of security agencies and other well-wishers to pay their respects.
