Kano SSAs Visit NWDC, Hail Commission’s Grassroots Impact
A delegation of Senior Special Assistants to the Kano State Government has commended the North-West Development Commission for its grassroots impact across the region.
The delegation, under the aegis of the SSA Unity Forum, paid a courtesy visit to the Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer of the Commission, Prof. Shehu Abdullahi Ma’aji, at its headquarters in Kano on Wednesday.
Chairman of the Forum, Danladi Mai-bulala, who led the delegation, said the visit was to appreciate the leadership of the MD and intimate the Commission of its grassroots sensitisation and civic engagement activities across the seven North-West states.
According to him, the group has adopted the principle of “Gani Ya Kori Ji” (Seeing is Believing), using video and pictorial evidence to showcase developmental projects at the grassroots.
He explained that beyond their official duties, members of the Forum have embarked on voluntary media engagements, town hall meetings and community dialogues to promote government policies and foster public understanding of development programmes, particularly in rural communities.
Mai-bulala said the Forum is committed to promoting unity and supporting initiatives that enhance rural development, which aligns with the mandate of the NWDC.
In his response, Prof. Ma’aji thanked the Forum for the visit and commended its zeal for grassroots engagement.
He reiterated that the Commission remains focused on its core mandate of catalysing sustainable development across the North-West through infrastructure, human capital development and community empowerment initiatives.
The MD assured the Forum that the Commission is open to partnerships that promote peace, unity and development in the region, in line with the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
In a statement, NWDC’s Head of Press and Public Relations, Abdulrashid Safana, said that the delegation presented advocacy materials and a formal letter outlining areas of proposed collaboration to the MD.
