Three Nigerian women have secured spots in the final of the Women’s Long Jump event.
Leading the pack is Ese Brume, who posted a leap of 6.76m.
Ruth Usoro followed closely with a jump of 6.68m, and Prestina Ochonogor secured her place with a 6.65m effort.
This historic accomplishment marks the first time three Nigerian women have advanced to the Long Jump final at the Olympics.
Out of the 12 athletes competing for the gold, silver, and bronze medals, Nigeria boasts an impressive three contenders.
Ese Brume, born on January 20, 1996, is the current Commonwealth champion and a three-time African senior champion in the Long Jump.
She holds a personal best of 7.17m (23 ft 6+1⁄4 in) and currently holds the Commonwealth Games record, the African junior record, and the African record in the event.
Brume is also a two-time World Athletics Championship medalist, an Olympic bronze medalist, and a five-time African junior champion in athletics.
