Ondo, Nasarawa Agree To Pay N70,000 Minimum Wage

The Ondo and Nasarawa state governments have confirmed their commitment to implementing a N70,000 minimum wage for their workers.

In Ondo State, Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa has assured state workers that his administration will adhere to the national minimum wage standards set by the federal government.

Bayo Phillip, the State Head of Service, emphasized that the state government is prepared to implement the new wage approved by President Bola Tinubu.

He highlighted Ondo’s previous efforts, noting that the state had been one of the first to pay the N35,000 wage award and had extended this benefit to retirees and employees of state-owned tertiary institutions to ease economic pressures.

Meanwhile, in Nasarawa State, Senior Special Assistant to Governor Abdullahi Sule on Public Affairs, Peter Ahemba, announced that the state is also ready to pay the new N70,000 minimum wage to civil servants.

Ahemba stated that this move would enhance workers’ welfare and productivity. He urged citizens to opt for dialogue over protests, noting that the government was addressing many of their concerns.
