President Bola Tinubu has concluded his three-day official visit to Equatorial Guinea on Friday afternoon, departing from Malabo, the nation’s capital.
The visit, which began on Wednesday, was in response to an invitation from President Teodoro Obiang Nguema Mbasogo and focused on strengthening diplomatic and economic ties between Nigeria and Equatorial Guinea.
During his stay, President Tinubu engaged in several key diplomatic activities, including the signing of the Gulf of Guinea Pipeline Agreement.
This agreement is expected to enhance energy cooperation between the two countries, boosting the region’s energy security and fostering economic integration.
The visit also saw the revival of the Nigeria-Equatorial Guinea Joint National Commission, which will oversee various bilateral initiatives set to commence in November.
These developments mark the beginning of a new chapter in the collaboration between the two West African nations.
President Tinubu’s departure from Malabo International Airport took place at around 4:03 pm, with Prime Minister Manuela Roka Botey of Equatorial Guinea accompanying him to the airport.
