Governor of Kano State Abba Yusuf has denied knowing anything about a recent contract that was given to 44 local government councils in the state for the supply of drugs.
This was said by the governor in a statement that was made available to reporters in Kano on Sunday. It was co-signed by the state’s commissioner of information, Baba Dantiye, and his spokesperson, Sanusi Tofa.
The statement added, “The governor has therefore mandated the Executive Chairman of the Kano State Public Complaints and Anti-Corruption Commission to promptly investigate the allegation and report the outcome for further necessary action.
“Furthermore, Yusuf urged the good people of Kano State to exercise patience pending the outcome of the investigation.”
