EFCC Declares Former Kogi Governor Yahaya Bello Fugitive, Orders Immediate Arrest

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has labeled Yahaya Bello, former Governor of Kogi State, as a fugitive and issued an order for his immediate arrest.

This decision follows unsuccessful attempts to locate him and his ongoing evasion of capture.

Yahaya Bello is facing serious allegations including money laundering, breach of trust, and misappropriation of 80.2 billion naira during his term in office.

Despite efforts by the EFCC to bring him in, Bello’s current location remains unknown.

In an update from EFCC spokesperson Dele Oyewale, the commission is working in coordination with both national and international law enforcement agencies to secure his arrest.

This move follows a recent Court of Appeal ruling in Abuja, which mandated Bello’s appearance for arraignment on corruption charges.

The EFCC has emphasized its commitment to tracking him down and ensuring compliance with legal proceedings.
