The Anambra chapter of the Nigerian Medical Association (NMA) has ended its indefinite strike.
The strike which began on Thursday was in response to the kidnapping of Dr. Stephen Ezeh, a private medical practitioner based in Ihiala.
The decision to suspend the strike came after Dr. Ezeh was released on Saturday.
Following the doctor’s release, the NMA instructed its members to resume their duties and provide clinical services at their respective workplaces starting from Sunday morning, August 25th.
The association expressed gratitude to the people of Anambra for their understanding during this challenging period.
The NMA also commended its members for their steadfastness amid the ongoing security challenges in the region, urging them to continue their dedication to delivering healthcare services.
Additionally, the NMA called on the state governor, Chukwuma Soludo, to urgently address the security situation in Anambra by declaring a state of emergency.
