    Tinubu departs China on official visit

    President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is set to leave Abuja for Beijing today, Thursday, August 29, for an official visit focused on enhancing bilateral ties and exploring economic opportunities.

    The President’s trip involves a quick stopover in the United Arab Emirates before traveling to China, where he will meet with President Xi Jinping and hold talks on bilateral cooperation, according to a statement released by his special adviser on media and publicity, Ajuri Ngelale.

    President Tinubu will also meet with Chinese business leaders to encourage trade and investment between China and Nigeria during the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation.

    The President will be accompanied on the trip by senior government officials, which is anticipated to have a major positive impact on Nigeria’s economic growth.

    “President Bola Tinubu will depart Abuja for Beijing, China, on Thursday, August 29, on an official visit.

    “President Tinubu will have a brief layover in the United Arab Emirates.

    “In China, the President will meet with President Xi Jinping and will hold meetings with Chinese business leaders on the sidelines of the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation.

    “President Tinubu will be accompanied by senior government officials on the trip”, the statement said.
