    FG To Strengthen Health System Resilience for Sustainable, Inclusive Care

    The Federal Government has reaffirmed its commitment to strengthening the country’s health system resilience to ensure sustainable and inclusive care for all Nigerians.

    Minister of State for Health, Dr. Iziaq Salako made this known while delivering an inaugural address at the Joint Annual Review (JAR) meeting in Abuja.

    According to him, the government will focus on key areas, including health financing reforms, insurance coverage, digital health transformation, supply chain security, human resources, and climate-resilient health system to ensure a robust health sector

    “We have made commendable progress, but we must be honest that our progress is not happening at the pace to meet the health needs of 230+ million Nigerians,” Dr. Salako stated. “We must join hands to deliver health to our people and make Nigeria great again.”

    The Minister informed that government has taken bold steps resulting in significant progress in disease-specific programs, including: HIV/AIDS, Tuberculosis, Malaria, Immunization program among others.

    He emphasized the importance of collaboration and collective responsibility in achieving a resilient health system, where every Nigerian can access quality healthcare without financial hardship.

    The JAR meeting provides a platform for stakeholders to renew their commitment to health system strengthening and take decisive action towards universal health coverage and health system resilience.
